Pacific Grove

Pacific Grove is a unique seaside town that boasts one of the most beautiful rocky coastlines on the Monterey Peninsula. It’s famous for its many Victorian homes, the amazing Asilomar State Beach, home of wintering Monarch butterflies, and boasts the oldest continuously-operating lighthouse on the West Coast. Residents enjoy inexpensive rates to play golf at the Municipal Golf Course and refer to their town as America’s Last Hometown and also Butterfly USA. In springtime the coastline is ablaze with the flowering “pink carpet” and the birth of the baby harbor seal pups attract thousands. Originally settled in the late 1800’s when it was a Methodist summer retreat, Pacific Grove has become a home and destination for all who love the sea.

Monterey

Monterey is a scenic coastal city bordering the Monterey Bay. Since it was the first capital of California, the town has a rich history and is filled with numerous Spanish adobes and historical buildings. The world renown Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row of John Steinbeck fame attract thousands of visitors yearly. Fisherman’s Wharf, also a hit with visitors, embodies the early importance of the fishing industry in this city. Also essential to Monterey’s economy is The Naval Post Graduate School and the Defense Language Institute. Monterey’s neighbor-hoods are diverse and reflect the rich history and cultures of its citizens.

Carmel Valley

Carmel Valley is an unincorporated area east of Carmel with Carmel Valley Village about twelve miles east of Highway One. Drive east from the coast and you immediately sense the rural fla-vor of the area as you pass ranches with grazing horses and cattle and view the beautiful vistas of the Santa Lucia Mountains. Recently built gated luxury developments have changed the casual environment some, but residents still enjoy the laid back country lifestyle of the Valley and enjoy hiking, horseback riding, golf, tennis and other outdoor pursuits. Wine tasting in the Village has become very popular with many tasting rooms offering samples from the numerous wineries and vineyards east of the village.
