Prancing Ponies Rides Again ~ In Carmel-By-The-Sea

CAR WEEK IS BACK! August 15th – 21st

Carmel ~ Pebble Beach ~ Pacific Grove ~ Monterey

Red Ferrari’s are some of my favorites at the car shows . . .  and why not, what’s not to like?  I expect there will be quite a few of them at this years Prancing Ponies Car Show in Carmel on Thursday!

This year, we’ve had to say good-bye to Concours on the Avenue in downtown Carmel, but Prancing Ponies Car Show has been placed right on Ocean Avenue this year on Thursday 8/18. Free to the public, it will be the only car show in Carmel-by-the-Sea. It will be quite a “Happening” with woman car owners showing off their cars and a fashion show! Prancing Ponies Foundation’s mission is to Create Women Leaders One Girl At A Time!

“Car Mania” in Carmel ~ Pebble Beach ~ Pacific Grove ~ Monterey

“Car Mania” in Carmel ~ Pebble Beach ~ Pacific Grove ~ Monterey

After a year and a half of pandemic isolation, it was a relief for many to see “Car Week” return to Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula.  It wasn’t quite as full blown as in years past, but it was still an amazing week drawing thousands to see the incredible cars and enjoy the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.

Car enthusiasts arrived from all over the country to enter their cars in the various car shows, participate in auto rallies, attend reunions of their car clubs and go to auctions to buy more cars!  Then thousands more came just to view the unique vehicles and ogle the “Eye Candy” in all colors.

One of the most popular car shows was the free “Concours On The Avenue” which took place in downtown Carmel on the Tuesday of “Car Week” featuring sporting cars, hot rods, muscle cars, and luxury cars.  This car owner is polishing his beauty diligently preparing for the judges.

There are cars for everyone’s taste.

Some of the cars were  sophisticated classics and some were WILD!

Our Carmel Realty office on Ocean Avenue was right in the middle of all of the action entertaining the viewing public with an Open House complete with refreshments.

What’s your favorite car?

1959 Porsche 356A convertible

Every car was identified by a sign on its windshield describing the car which was very helpful.

 What’s my favorite car?

1959 Chevrolet Corvette

I love this 1959 Corvette – look at this wheel!

But then Ferrari’s are pretty cool too!

The classic 1950 Chevy convertibles are pretty neat too.  OK, I love them all!

On Sunday “Car Week” ended with the piece de resistance, the Concours d’  Elegance – and elegant it is!

Wow! Love that color!

I didn’t go to the Sunday event, but this is one of the cars shown in a prior year when the Tour d’ Elegance would park in downtown Carmel on Thursday for 2 hours while the car owners enjoyed lunch in the park.

These amazing classic cars are something to behold!

In case I have now turned you into a car lover, put a week in Carmel on your calendar for next year and come and enjoy!

The Pebble Beach Lifestyle ~ What’s Not to Like?

Memories of “Car Week”  in Pebble Beach

At Carmel Realty Company we take treating our clients well very seriously.  When I first speak with a client, I always tell them to consider me your realtor for life.  I take relationships seriously as does the company I work for.  Enter “Car Week” !  Always a delight for all and a chance to meet new friends and clients who want to learn more about our fabulous Monterey Peninsula.

This year Carmel Realty Company hosted  two fabulous parties at oceanfront properties where guests could experience how amazing the lifestyle can be in this idyllic community.

Guests entering the party at Villa Eden del Mar on 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach Thursday evening

Our Thursday night party during “Car Week” was held at Villa Eden del Mar on 17 Mile Drive, one of our amazing properties for sale.  It was described in 1925 as “A Spanish Palace by the Sea” and has long been considered one of the most renowned homes on the Monterey Coast.  Guests enjoyed Quintessa wine and delicious light bites from Grasing’s, one of Carmel’s finest restaurants.

Guests mingle on the delightful patio drinking wine from Quintessa Estates and delicious bites from Grasing’s restaurant.

How spectacular this was to be able to invite my guests to such a fabulous party!

Although the home was open for all to tour, guests seemed to linger on the back patio where the view of the Pacific Ocean was “to die for”.  The weather was warm ~ everything was just about perfect.

Debbie and Walter from Shreveport. LA

Debbie and Walter, clients from Shreveport, LA,  loved the party and the Pebble Beach lifestyle!  They are looking forward to when they can move here.  I think our party at this breath-taking location convinced anyone who was considering a move or having a second home here to take the steps!

Susan Clark, Realtor 831-320-6801

No one had to convince me that night!  I love the Monterey Peninsula lifestyle and still have to pinch myself – after living here 20 years – that I am just where I want to be – and it’s perfect!

Since parking was limited, Carmel Realty had arranged with Rolls Royce to have their amazing cars available  to shuttle guests to their cars parked at another listing close by.  Walter being a car buff loved checking out the Rolls. Thank you Rolls Royce!

I kind of liked checking out the fantastic cars, also.                                     But I do prefer the convertible!

Thinking about having a place here?  Call me and let’s chat.  We have homes in all price ranges and I would love to help you  find your dream home or getaway –  just perfect for you!

Car Week off to a roaring start! Carmel-by-the-Sea

Welcome to Concours on the Avenue!

Today is the day that hoards of people will descend into Carmel-by-the-Sea and walk up and down Ocean Avenue to google all of the pretty cars.  That is after they will walk a mile from the place they had to park – except for the early birds who get their by 8:00am like my husband and I usually do.  This year we’re going a bit later and will have a long walk – but hey, we need the exercise anyway.  Some of the cars  will take us back to our youth and make our eyes mist up like the 50’s Chevys and others will make our mouth drool like this lovely red Ferrari.  What is it about Ferrari’s?

And what is it about red cars?  My first car was red.  A red 850 Spider Fiat convertible.  I so loved that car.  The engine was about as powerful as a lawn mower, but I tooled around the hills of  San Francisco with the top down at the age of 22.  Life was good!  Porsches are nice too, but in a little different category.

At today’s car show, people watching is also great entertainment.  The owners are so proud of their cars and always available to talk about every detail with the story of their lives woven in.

There’s always some of the oldies mixed in too – always a crowd favorite!

I always get a “kick” our of rumble seats – I guess that was the first convertible.  Well, got to run – don’t want to miss this years offerings!
