In a recent Inman News article it was stated that owners of luxury property are likely to see future changes in the tax code raising taxes on the wealthy. These proposed changes are motivating a number of ultra high-net-worth individuals to sell before the changes take effect.
President Joe Biden is proposing these modifications to the tax code as a way of funding the $1.8 trillion America Families Plan to help families with young children struggling with poverty.

At Carmel Realty Company we take treating our clients well very seriously. When I first speak with a client, I always tell them to consider me your realtor for life. I take relationships seriously as does the company I work for. Enter “Car Week” ! Always a delight for all and a chance to meet new friends and clients who want to learn more about our fabulous Monterey Peninsula.
This year Carmel Realty Company hosted two fabulous parties at oceanfront properties where guests could experience how amazing the lifestyle can be in this idyllic community.
Our Thursday night party during “Car Week” was held at Villa Edendel Mar on 17 Mile Drive, one of our amazing properties for sale. It was described in 1925 as “A Spanish Palace by the Sea” and has long been considered one of the most renowned homes on the Monterey Coast. Guests enjoyed Quintessa wine and delicious light bites from Grasing’s, one of Carmel’s finest restaurants.
How spectacular this was to be able to invite my guests to such a fabulous party!
Although the home was open for all to tour, guests seemed to linger on the back patio where the view of the Pacific Ocean was “to die for”. The weather was warm ~ everything was just about perfect.
Debbie and Walter, clients from Shreveport, LA, loved the party and the Pebble Beach lifestyle! They are looking forward to when they can move here. I think our party at this breath-taking location convinced anyone who was considering a move or having a second home here to take the steps!
No one had to convince me that night! I love the Monterey Peninsula lifestyle and still have to pinch myself – after living here 20 years – that I am just where I want to be – and it’s perfect!
Since parking was limited, Carmel Realty had arranged with Rolls Royce to have their amazing cars available to shuttle guests to their cars parked at another listing close by. Walter being a car buff loved checking out the Rolls. Thank you Rolls Royce!
I kind of liked checking out the fantastic cars, also. But I do prefer the convertible!
Thinking about having a place here? Call me and let’s chat. We have homes in all price ranges and I would love to help you find your dream home or getaway – just perfect for you!
US Open Golf Tournament, Pebble Beach, CA June 13 – 16 2019
The Monterey Peninsula is a “Golf Mecca”. We have golf course after golf course – with a perfect golf course to suit every player’s need. And we attract PGA tours – after all who wouldn’t want to come to Pebble Beach which looks glorious to the TV viewer from every camera angle. Every February we enjoy the AT&T Pro Am Golf Tournament, however, this year is a double whammy ~ the US Open Golf Tournament has come to Pebble Beach for the third time in 19 years.
This year something special is causing excitement and anticipation and there is only one word for it – Tiger. Yes he’s back and after winning the Masters this year, his fans are hoping he can win here again this weekend. Tiger has struggled with personal issues and serious injuries over the years and some critics thought he was done. But ever since his Augusta win, #Tigersback is a popular refrain.
As realtors we started planning for the US Open months ago by creating innovative advertising for the print and digital media that would beguile and bewitch prospective buyers and invite them to purchase property while visiting the area.During the tournament while the golf crowd heads for the courses, we’ll be manning our posts at the “Floor duty” desk or hosting numerous Open Houses at our listings hoping some of our visitors will stray from the event. We hope to lure some of our golf enthusiasts to find the coveted prize – a home on the Monterey Peninsula.
We know that tournament goers will spend most of their time watching the play or playing golf themselves – and then, of course, time spent at the infamous 19th Hole. In fact, keeping this in mind, many companies are having parties and events including my real estate office, Carmel Realty Company, to entertain clients who have already purchased homes or who are considering it. We hope that everyone will have such a good time here and at least pick up the newspapers and magazines touting our gorgeous homes and return at a later time.
There is nothing more beautiful than Pebble Beach on a clear sunny day and that’s what we are blessed with this week except for a little morning fog.If nothing else our visitors will take home delightful memories of blue skies, sunlit courses and crashing waves, after bearing witness to some great golf. Will Tiger win? That is yet to be determined. Play on!
