While I was holding open one of my listings in Carmel Woods a number of years ago, a neighbor stopped in and whispered to me, “Carmel Woods is our hidden secret!”  After selling a number of homes in Carmel Woods over the years,  I have to agree.  Removed from the tourist frenzy of Carmel-By-The-Sea, and just a few blocks from town, this peaceful neighborhood is a treasure.  Residents meander through their winding wooded streets taking their daily constitutional waving to their neighbors as they go by.  Home owners “in the woods” enjoy a rare intimacy with their fellow residents unknown in some of the other areas of Carmel.

One of the most important things you can do to improve the value of your home is to remodel your kitchen.  How do you decide how to start?  First look at the many kitchen design ideas to find out what appeals to you and if you are planning to sell you’ll want to also consider what will appeal to most buyers.

There should be a common theme throughout your home so it all flows and looks like it belongs together.  Does your home have a cottage feel or is it traditional or contemporary?

Now plan the layout of your kitchen.  Picture yourself cooking a meal in the kitchen and be sure you place the range, the prep area, and the refrigerator so it will be convenient to create that fantastic meal!
